| Well, long time no update so ill keep on typing whatever comes outta my head
Just recently, Feb. 21, 2005 Me, Dooface, and Poy with the rest of the Evolution Motorsports crew went out to Buttonwillow Race Track down near Bakersfield. Yeah yeah, I know... you all wanna know how the Camry did right? Well, safe to say that it can easily outrun a stock motor 240sx with built suspension. The Supra TT brakes worked like a charm, but the rear being stock as it is, faded and felt some warpage due to the heavy vibration after 3-4 laps. It was AMAZING!!!! Team Falken D1 drifters were over there since they needed to share the track with us so towards half the day, we were running around with competition cars such as Turbo g35s, a 350z with an SR20, Skyline R32, and 33s, RX-7s and all the initial D cars you can think of. It started to get so/so after being WOWed by the cool cars, but truth is, they were all the same Good thing me and another car was there to stir up the linup a bit. Me=Camry and the other car was some 80s Subaru Wagon. Strange, but it held its own on the track.
The dudes met up with My bebe Mai and her friend Christine the night before. The day was raining like crazy for about 2hrs and almost ALL the cars were spinning out and getting trapped in at least 4-6 inch mud. The Camry on the otherhand was doing great since we were the only car to have a FWD setup as well as highperformance all season tires. After, the Auto Gods responded and gave up 70-80* weather throughout the entire day just in time for the BBQ to be setup.
Looks like everyone had fun that day. We were able to run the entire track instead of only half. Me, Mai and Duuda ran the car and had lots of track time. Since the car is my daily driver, it didnt seem all that different but I did get better and was whipping the rear end like no tomorrow be mid day. On the free runs, I made it my mission to coach Mai on her driving skills so soon it'll be on par with my own Guy out there, watch out... you can ass talk all you want about being a good driver/amazing drifter but it means nothing unless you prove it on the track. Mai started out rough at first when she would have inefficient use of her hands as well as braking at the apex and not taking the best driving line (staying in the middle). It was all good since she needed to get the feel of the car as well as learn the track. After 6 laps of so, I couldnt believe it was still her driving my car Even though I was being uptight like a drill sargent and prolly telling her nonsense, she soaked it in like a spong named bob and was whipping out the rear a little too . Good job bebe! Tin is proud of you Im glad that she had lots of fun and I hope I wasnt too hard on being her coach and all
Duudaface was next. He rode with me after Mai had a couple of laps when we started. I felt guilty for having so much fun and he wasnt able to have the 240 ready in time for the event that I let him drive too. At first he was kinda rough since it is a different setup that he's used to. Later on, im glad that he was driving instead of someone else since I know he wont break the car by pushing it stupidly till it breaks vs. others who might. Another reason why It was good that he was there was because I wanted to see someone who was familiar with the car and push it so that I could watch the Camry in all it's sexyness. I had Mai ride with him so incase anything happened, then she could prolly be of assistance. Me and him had to rotate since the shoulders of the tires were beat up pretty bad even though I set the Camber as negative as it would go.
Poy looked like he had fun, but not too sure. His first ride was with Bau in the SR20 powered Corolla. I know it was prolly my fault for making him ride in that car first knowing it was one of the fastest on the track, it might have made him sick/dizzy. Well, he used my helmet and when I got it back was super crazy sweaty doh! oh wells, next time all people wear headsocks cause I dont wanna be smelling other people while driving . Later on, I took pot out on a wild drive and he seemed to enjoy it.
There was a lot of footage that was taken, but due to the rain, got MESSED UP Oh well, the only video that remains now is of us being all super excited at the hotel room and a little of what I took in the morning when poy was waking up everyone and the biological war erupted . All in all it was well worth the trip and money.
